The core of the self-experiment is a technologically augmented cosmetic mirror in your own bathroom. This mirror can be delivered to your home via the project website and installed in your bathroom.

What at first glance looks like a conventional bathroom utensil is actually a technical surveillance instrument with integrated artistic intelligence. The mirror meticulously reflects the actions performed in the bathroom for one week and takes photographic snapshots. Contrary to convention, the mirror does not offer a mirror surface for one's own face, but tracks the actions performed from the neck down to the feet.

As a result, bathroom users do not see their face reflected at any time. Instead, the artistic intelligence in the mirror unfolds a seemingly independent and individual view of the user's actions and body. Although one does not see oneself reflected, the targeted observation of individual parts of the body, such as the knees or upper arms, creates a feeling of reflection in which one part of the body is placed at the centre of one's own perception.

The mirror Takes picture on a regulär base. The user will have this picture as a photowork at the end of the week.
The project reflects on body rituals, images of beauty in analogue and digital space, as well as the intimacy of artistic intelligence and surveillance by technical devices in the private sphere.
